After the partition of 1947, Punjab was marked by a period of state-building efforts, which attempted to establish a national identity closely linked to the resuscitation, folklore and ritualization of many of Punjab`s older dances. During this period, the Bhangra dance was symbolized as an emblematic emblem of the Punjab region as a whole and overshadowed other important and secular popular dances of the region. Punjab`s rich repertoire of folk dances includes Jhummar, Sammi, Luddi, dandas, nachar and giddha. [9] There are leading dances in Punjab, but perhaps less confidence in a global audience.
