It is organized annually in collaboration with the University of East Flanders and the United Nations Environment Programme. Each year, it is a changing place of study and a thematic theme. The University of Eastern LaFin (UEF) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) are jointly organising a two-week high-level course on international environmental legislation and diplomacy. The course will take place from 17 to 27 August 2020 at the University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu, Finland.

The course is organised in collaboration with the Finnish government. Each course focuses on a specific theme of international environmental law and, through interactive conferences, workshops and excursions, the course allows participants with basic skills in international environmental legislation, diplomacy and negotiation in this specific area.
